~10/9/07 The stamp has been repaired and a new log book is in place 8-)~
Directions:
Take 395 south heading towards New London. After exit 79A you will see a Mobil gas station. It is directly across from the police barracks. Pull in here and go past the pumps. Park in the northwest corner of the lot and get ready to start your hunt.
I have traveled this section of road many times. I certainly would have welcomed a reason to stop and stretch my legs or grab a Cup O' Joe. We hope all of your journeys are safe. Please enjoy another excellent carving from son/brother.
Clues:
After parking in the norhwest corner, look towards the tree line and you will see a path. This path leads to a wonderful bridge that takes you to Boy Scout owned property. Please DO NOT cross the bridge. Instead, go left alongside the river. There is a path here also and you will keep the river on the right all the way.
You will come to a tree that is 'gating' the path that you are on. You can either go over or go around. Continue on until you come to a large rock with many trees around it. Go counter clockwise around this rock to the backside and look off to your left (southeast). You will see a many sistered tree a short ways off. Go to this tree and look in the crotch. There you will find a Cup O' Joe to refresh yourself. Please rehide well with twigs and leaves. There are a lot of deer through here, maybe you will see one on your trip.
We hope you enjoyed the hunt, Flutterby and Fat Cat.
