Lakeside Beach State Park offers an outstanding panoramic view of Lake Ontario and surrounding farms and fruit orchards. No swimming is allowed, but 274 campsites, four miles of hiking and biking trails, fishing along the lake front, picnic grounds and playing fields bring thousands to the park. Winter activities include hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Be aware that there is a fee for using the park.
Directions: On Lake Ontario, off of the Lake Ontario State Parkway, 10 miles north of Albion on Route 18 west.
Please find a Picnic Place before attempting to find Jolly Roger.
Have you ever wished you were a pirate? I don't know if Lake Ontario has ever really had a pirate ship sailing around but it does look like the perfect place to experience one.
Your quest is to find Jolly Roger. Not a very scary pirate by the sound of it but still a pirate. You begin your adventure by the tree where Adam proclaims his love for Lauren. We aren't sure what happened to Lauren but I am pretty sure Adam had a run in with Jolly Roger and had to walk the plank many years ago!
From their tree continue your walk to the east. You will leave the comfort of the forest and move onto the wide open grassy area. Continue to walk along side the lake. Be watchful for the any strange and unmarked ships for this is truly Jolly Roger's turf! After some time you will encounter a grassy path running along side the lake - take the path! Be wary of whistling cannon balls and men with colorful birds on their shoulders! I cannot tell you more for alas, it is my turn to walk the plank. But continue on to the Y - it marks the spot! Three steps up on the eastern arm. Be careful - Jolly Roger is not too jolly right now!
Please rehide carefully after stamping into Jolly Rogers' log.
Please bring a pencil and an ink pad.
