The Just Passin’ Thru Box
***THIS BOX IS UNFORTUNATELY GONE AND WON'T BE REPLACED. I'LL REMOVE THE CLUE IN A FEW WEEKS.*****7/22/07
“I’ve been through Delaware on my way to …” is a frequent response from people upon learning I make my home in the First State and provided the inspiration for the J.P.T. box.
The box is located in Bellevue State in north Wilmington, just off exit 9 (Marsh Road) of I-95. Southbound travelers will see the park entrance to the left as they approach the I-95 exit. Take left onto Marsh Road and then a quick left onto Carr Road. The entrance is a few hundred feet on the right. Northbound travelers, take the marsh Road exit. Continue straight, as the road becomes Carr Road. The park entrance is a few hundred feet on the right.
From April through October, the park has a $5 entrance fee for Non-Delaware vehicles and $2.50 for Delaware vehicles.
Length: Should take about 20 minutes.

------------------------------------------
After entering the park, go to the main parking lot near the stables.
Proceed to the lake.
Go across the bridge in the middle of the lake.
At the fork on the other side of the bridge, continue straight through the picnic area, toward the sign in the distance.
When you get to the sign, you’ll find it’s number 9.
From the sign, take 22 steps toward the ½ mile sign and turn right.
Cut across to the paved trail and head north along the trail.
As you proceed to the end of the clearing, you will pass 5 holly trees on your left and 3 on your right.
Continue a short way until you reach the concrete fence post (may be hard to spot in the summer) that almost touches the trail.
On your left at about 10:00 is a fallen tree with a hollowed out base that’s in the air.
That’s where you’ll find the box, cover with a small log.
Please rehide well, as box maybe visible from the trail.
