The hunt: an easy short access box except for last couple of feet. Stroller and dogs OK.
Even big RVs are OK.


Clues:

The letterbox hunt starts at Kernville Cemetery on Sierra Way between Wofford Heights and Kernville at the Veterans Memorial inside the cemetery grounds. Locate the plaque wall that honors Veterans and also has a plaque that remembers 9/11/2001.

Doing some simple math to get the degrees needed to proceed to he letterbox site can solve the clues.

1.Count the number of people on the far “Remembering Their Sacrifices” plaque.

2.Using the above number, multiply that times the number of round plaques on the wall.

3.Multiply that number times the number of flags flying above the wall.

4.Take that number and add the number of eagles on the wall.


You should have a triple digit number. Drive south 2/10 of a mile to a smallish brown sign that reads “ Point of Historical Interest Cemetery. Stand at the sign and find the location of the letterbox by using the degree number you came up with, go to the formation and work your way to the backside. You will have to step on some boulders to letterbox site. Go to southeast side of formation and look for the sharp split edge on the highest part of the formation. The box is on the ground at the base of the split edge covered with a flattish rock and that is covered with 3 reddish rocks.
