Do not go here in winter. Be mindful of potential hazards such as snakes, poison ivy, and spiders. Bring your own stamp pad and pen, and perhaps a zip-lock bag.
Clues:
Take a drive in northern Orleans County near Lake Ontario. If you visit in season, you could stop at Farmer Brown's and enjoy a Zweigle (either red or white). They make good pie, too. Take the nearest road to the north (a church is close by) for about one mile and park in the marina lot. You are now on state property, so please act accordingly. At the northeast corner of the parking lot is a foot path. Follow the path for about 195 paces (two steps per pace). You should see a sign placed by the State of New York. At the west end of the sign, take a reading of 59 degrees and take about five or six paces. You'll see boulders placed to make the pier. In a crevice between some boulders at this point, you should find OOOTL buried under twigs, leaves, and small rocks taken from the nearby beach.
Additional refreshment can be had by looking to the Black North.
Fishermen like to drop a line into this creek, so you may need to act discreetly.
August 15, 2005. Due to the presence of two very active bee's nests, OOOTL has moved approximately four feet north of his original location. Avoid the areas where bees can be seen entering and exiting the ground. Don't jump in and reach around. Use a stick to move some leaves and debris. The box is under some small stones.
August 13, 2007. OOOTL has been retired and is no longer in place. Thanks to all of you who visited OOOTL in this special location.
