Remember back in the good old days when you could hop on an airplane with your lip balm, a bottle of water and your shoes on your feet? All it took was one jerk to ruin it for all of us. Now going to the airport is a mini nightmare in packing and wardrobe choice not to mention cosmetic options, accessories and what shoes you can wear that do not have laces. You might be wondering how this relates to letterboxing.

Idaho was just like the good old days of traveling in the once friendly skies. Idaho Letterboxers were simple down to earth nature loving folks, boxes were secure and well cared for and there was no fear of malicious activities on the trail. It has only taken one person to change that here in Idaho. In the past two months I have knowledge of four of my boxes being vandalized (there may be more) and two others have gone completely missing.

I hope that the vandal has already pre-printed all of my clues because they are now gone from the internet. I also hope that they realize that whatever clues they may have may not be valid because I constantly change locations of boxes and the clues right along with them.

Going forward I will only be providing clues to boxers that I know or have knowledge of. And if I do not have knowledge of you I will ask for a reference from another well known boxer to verify that you are a ligament boxer and not some stamp stealing poser. How many boxers do I know? A lot of them! I can be e-mailed through Atlas Quest or blackvelvetrav@yahoo.com if you would like to request local clues. As I plant new boxes I will only be providing clues directly to my local letterboxing friends.

Also the vandal has not only struck my boxes but other local boxes too. One of those boxes had been placed in honor of “The Raisin” and she has not taken the news of her special box missing very well. A warning that you better stay out of her way!

Sorry that our friendly hunting grounds have been spoiled. Blackvelvetrav
