TOURING the TORS

It is my belief that once one has been to Dartmoor and walked the Moors and climbed the Tors, you will never be the same.
That magic can not be found in our great woods of Ct. Our woods are beautiful, our hills are great, and peace abounds, but no Moors can be found.
So for all you dreamers, I have searched for some Tors and see many rocks that bring a smile and I think “ Now that could be a Tor “
My first letterbox was found in the Milo Light Preserve in Salem and so it holds a bit of magic for me. I share a little taste of boxing at Dartmoor with:~~
“ TOURING the TORS”
For wishful thinkers and dreaming dreamers.

Part One : ~~ ANIMAL TOR
Once you have found Milo Light Preserve, park in the little one car spot or with permission only , park in the Church parking lot adjacent.
From the Sign at trail head.
Walk the main trail at a slow pace and enjoy these lovely woods . In less that 15 minutes [in snow and less in dry conditions ] of easy walking the trail begins down a gentle slope . Soon , step through a cut log on the trail and begin watching to the left for three large boulders. The Third boulder is the largest and is a RABBIT !! Make your way to the rabbit and look under and behind his ear for the Animal Tor letterbox. If you have letterboxed in Dartmoor, or heard tales there of – you might notice the Rabbit then hopped twice to the north , once to the east and once to the west in his quest.
A big Thank You to RTRW for her wonderful carvings she shares with us all.
