---This letterbox was reported missing March 2006---

This box is located at Tumalo State Park 6 miles West of Bend, Oregon. Go into Tumalo State Park Day Use Picnicking area and park. There will be a day use fee unless you have an annual Oregon State Park Pass.

CLUES: Start at the stairs with the "Group A" sign. Head down to the Group Picnic A Reserved sign. Head for the picnic table with the concrete foundation & BBQ at 280 degrees magnetic. From the BBQ go straight to the river. To your left is a horseshoe pit. Go to the farthest part of the wooden horseshoe pit. Continue on to the leaning tree straight ahead. Directly South from the leaning tree is a stump from a huge cut timber. Go there. Stand behind the stump looking away from the river. At 110 degrees magnetic twin mini mountains beckon. Go stand between these mountains. Is that the river too at 170 degrees? Head there and go tothe BBQ on the right. Go to the twin-trunker straight ahead. To the East is a trailhead sign. Go to it. Follow briefly and stop where the concrete ends next to a tree on your left. From here go 19 steps. Stop. To your left at 10 degrees and 6 steps up The Tumalo Chipmunk peers out from between small rocks under a large boulder.

Best regards,
