This stamp is part of the Connecticut State Stamp Series designed by the Engraver in the spring of 2004. Collect each county stamp to outline the state map of CT.

Located on the Little River North Trails in Redding, CT. It is just over ½ mile to this box on flat, easy terrain, which runs alongside a lovely little river.

Directions: John Read Road (which is not maintained in the winter) is located in Redding off Route 58 just 1.2 miles south of the Route 107 and Route 58 intersection near Putnam Memorial Park. Turn onto John Read Road and drive less than 2 tenths of a mile down John Read Rd cross a green bridge and park in the pull-off on the left hand side of the road just after the bridge.

Clues: Walk up the road away from Route 58 about 30 yards and notice the signs to the left and right indicating the Little River No.(north) Trail. Take the trail to the left, which follows along the Little River.

Enjoy the sounds of nature during the easy walk along the river. In about ½ mile the river flows into a S shape. At this point you pass through a rock wall bringing you closer to the water. In about 30 yards the trail crosses the rock wall again. Just before crossing the rock wall however, you will find the Fairfield County Letterbox at the base of the tree to your left under the slanted rock.
