Walking distance: 1 mile loop
Trail difficulty: fairly easy
The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in Agate Fossil Beds National Monument in far northwestern Nebraska. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks and national monuments administered by the U. S. National Park Service. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp and sign the log book.
From State Highway 29 south of Harrison, turn east into Agate Fossil Beds National Monument. Just after making the turn, turn left into the parking area for the Daemonelix Trail and park there.
Start walking north on the trail. At the start of the trail is a metal interpretive sign (with a large map on it) titled “Daemonelix Trail”. In the first paragraph on the left (the first line starts with the words “Walk the Daemonelix Trail”), in the second line, what is the eighth word ______?
Continue walking on the trail and up in the loop area of the trail for a metal interpretive sign titled “The Lay of the Land”. In the first paragraph on the left (the first line starts with the words “The walk from the”), in the third line, what is the third word ______?
To create the mystery word, put the word from the second question on the end of the word from the first question (without spaces). Paste the mystery word into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):
http://nostalgia.esmartkid.com/???.html
Now, plug/paste/type the new URL into your web browser and you will have completed your search for the Agate Fossil Beds Monument Webbox.
Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ .
