This box is in Chestnut Ridge Regional Park. From I-68, take exit #15. Follow the signs to the Chestnut Ridge Regional Park. Drive into the park and park at the old red school house which is now the “Nature Center”.
Walk north on the gravel road that goes by the “Stone Cabin”. Turn right on the road to the “Shower House”. You will soon see a small brown sign on the left with two hikers on it. From that sign walk east on the trail for a short distance, turn left, and walk counter-clockwise around the small pond. At the east end of the pond you will cross over a small wood bridge. Continue northeast on the trail. You will soon cross another trail. From that intersection, continue northeast on the trail up slope for about 41 steps. Look right and you will see 4 large slabs of rock a short distance off the trail. The slab between the two large trees is leaning on the slab beneath it. From the northeast end of the leaning slab, go about 120 degrees (from mag. north) for about 10 steps to the remnants of an old rotten disintegrating stump (now just pieces of bark!). The box is under a slab of rock and pieces of bark covered with plant debris. Be alert for snakes.
Please rehide the box well under the rock and plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.
I will not be able to check on this box; so, please let me know if you find it, or if it is missing so that I can modify the clues:
