Dear Mr. Brent Wise,
My name is Lt. Alan Stepbehind. You have been recommended to me by a dear friend of mine. It is reported that you are a masterful sleuth, and I have great need of your talent. I am involved with a high profile case that has everyone baffled. I’m afraid I must be very discrete due to the sensitive nature of the situation, but the crime scenes are all in a nearby park dear to the hart of our gentle-man friend.
Three people have been kidnapped, all sleuths of some renown themselves. A single clue has been found at each crime scene. We cannot make heads nor tails of these clues, and are anxious for the safety of the victims. I am enclosing a copy of the three clues, and ask for any aid that you can give. It would be greatly appreciated.
