***REPORTED MISSING 05/18/09*****
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is a beautiful tranquil place in the city of
Dallas,Texas. More than 300,000 people visit each year.
It overlooks White Rock Lake. To get there go to Mapquest.com. They also have a web site:
wwww.dallasarboretum.com
The Gardens is my favorite place to visit. Each season brings a new and wonderful view
of sculptures, flowers,Topiaries, giant insects and much more. From Tulips in the spring to
a beautiful display of Creche's in the Winter, there is something for everyone. The Pioneer
village draws the attention of children to the wagon, tepee, cabin and much more.
The box is located in the area just outside the main entrance to the gardens. You will
not need to pay until you enter the gardens. There is a parking fee that is charged with
the entrance fee. When I was there, you did not have to pay to enter the parking lot.
1. Enter the main parking lot and park.
2. Find the waterfall directly across from the main entrance to the gardens. (In the winter, the waterfalls are empty)
3. Stand with your back to the waterfall facing the entrance.
There is a drive in front of you.
4. To your left, there are two large rocks. Walk to the second rock, there is a
drain in front of it.
5.Stand in front of the rock facing the building.
Walk 19 steps across the drive to the tree directly across from the rock on the other side
and turn left.
6. Walk 16 steps to the LIVE OAK TREE. There will be a bus stop sign on your left and benches
on the right.
7. Sit on the first bench with your right arm on the arm rest. The box is directly behind you in the plants.
8. As you can imagine this is a very high traffic area Please be discreet.
Enjoy the adventure and let me know the status of the box.
