This letterbox is located in the Cape Cod National Seashore.
It has a logbook with hand-carved stamp and some small
trinkets inside. If you bring something small to exchange
you may take one of the items within. Please record specifics in the logbook. Thanks.
Take Rt.6 east out of Orleans, MA. Look for signs on your
right (east) directing to Fort Hill Area. This is the south
end of the town of Eastham. Take the entrance road all the
way in to the top of Fort Hill and the parking lot. Enjoy
this remarkable view of Nauset Harbor, beach and the salt
marsh. Take the trail leading out of the parking lot toward
the ocean (east). Not far down this trail is a huge rock
where the path forks. Stand on the downhill side of the rock
between it and the ocean. Face the rock. The box is hidden in a hole at the base of the rock. This is a well travelled
trail. Please be careful not to be seen retrieving or replacing the box. Thanks for being extra careful and taking
