Walking distance: about 0.2 mile one way
Trail difficulty: fairly easy, the path is dirt and rocky in parts but fairly flat.

The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in north-central Arizona. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks, national monuments, national recreation areas, and other sites administered by the U. S. National Park Service. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp.

Go to the Lees Ferry section of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. It is located off of U. S. Highway 89A. The access road takes off of Highway 89A just west of the Navajo Bridge over the Colorado River and heads 7 miles north to Lees Ferry. Drive to the end of the road at the Lees Ferry Fort historic area and park in the lot next to the historic area.

Near the east edge of the parking area is a colorful interpretive sign titled “River Trail”. In the first (top) paragraph (begins with the words “Follow the route…”), in the 2nd line, what is the last word?

Now, walk east through the historic area to a large rusty boiler to the left and a little above the trail and look for an interpretive sign with historic photos and titled “Lees Ferry”. In the first paragraph on the left (begins with the words “Because of long…”), in the 1st sentence, what is the 4th word?

To create the mystery word, put the word from the second question on the end of the word from the first question (without spaces). Paste the mystery word (all letters lower case) into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):

http://nostalgia.esmartkid.com/???.html

Now, plug/paste/type the new URL into your web browser and you will have completed your search for the Glen Canyon Recreation Area Webbox.

Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ .
