I originally prepared this box as a replacement for the Granite Dells Letterbox which I thought was missing. However, when I checked on it, it was still there! So, I turned this box into a new letterbox hidden in the same general area.

From State Highway 69 at the east side of Prescott, turn north on Prescott Lakes Pkwy. (there is a Wal-Mart at this junction. After about 2 miles, turn right (northeast) on Sundog Ranch Rd. Just after passing the Humane Society animal shelter (on the right), turn left into the car park and trailhead for the Peavine Trail. There is a $2 fee to park here.

Walk north on the Peavine Trail. Look for the one mile marker on the right side of the trail and a side trail going off from the opposite side of the trail there. However, continue on the Peavine Trail and go to the next trail, the Lakeshore Trail, taking off on the left (it is just before the "S.F.,P. & P. Ry." sign). Walk north on this side trail a short distance to the trail sign. Turn right on the Lakeshore Trail. At the next trail sign continue straight on the Lakeshore Trail -- from this trail sign walk about 36 steps to a rounded boulder on the right side of the trail. From that point, go off trail at about 100 degrees (from mag. north) for about 39 steps to a lone smooth rounded lichen covered medium size boulder with a small Oak Tree growing out of a notch on its right side. The box is under the Oak Tree covered with some rocks which are covered with some plant debris and twigs. Be alert for snakes.

Please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag) and put all of it inside the box. Please put the lid on tight. Please rehide the box well under the rocks and covered with twigs and other plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.

Contact me if the box needs attention or is missing:
