Difficulty: Moderate. Trail is rocky and uphill; however, it is well defined.

This letterbox is dedicated to the Grizzly Bears that once roamed this area, but are no more. Maybe some day they will return and reclaim their homeland!
The box is in the Lewis and Clark National Forest at about 6000 feet elevation. Go to the parking area for the Memorial Falls Trailhead. It is on the east side of U. S. Highway 89 about 1.6 miles south of Neihart.
Walk up the main trail that goes to the falls. Go over the wood bridge past the lower falls and continue up the main trail. You will soon go up a series of short switchbacks and then the trail will level off. After the trail flattens, you will soon arrive at a boulder directly on the right side of the trail. It is about 3 feet high and covered with lichen. From that boulder, go up slope at about 348 degrees (from magnetic north) for about 51 steps to a very large boulder. The box is hidden on the northwest side of this large boulder under a flat rock covered with some plant debris.
Please please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag). Please rehide the box well under the rock and covered with some plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.
If you continue up the trail a short distance, you will see the upper falls.
