"Hey, are you busy tonight," Jessie asked Kelsey? "No, do you have something in mind," asked Kelsey. "I'm in the mood for some music. Are you up for a drive?" Kelsey shot Jessie a look. "Where do you plan on going, especially in the middle of the week?" "Don't worry, you'll like it. We're headed to 'West Michigan's Home of Irish Entertainment'. Let's go."

Kelsey had never been out to this place before. She could tell Jessie was excited, and her excitement tended to be contagious. As Jessie drove Kelsey noticed rolling farm fields, barns and old farm houses. "Where are we going," Kelsey wondered to herself. "Well," she thought, "at least the scenery is interesting," so she sat back and enjoyed the ride.

Soon they reached their destination. Kelsey wasn't sure this place would even qualify as a town. There was a post office, though, and a small convenience store. In addition to the grain dealer, the pub in front of her, a church, and a few houses, Kelsey didn't notice much else in this small community.

They stood outside the colorful establishment for a moment. "How do they stay in business, so far out in the country," asked Kelsey? "People from all over come here for the concerts – and for events like tonight," replied Jessie. "We're a bit early though. What do you say we go for a walk?" "Sounds great," said Kelsey, and she followed Jessie north up the road.

When they reached the first intersection Jessie led Kelsey over to the bike trail that heads through town, and they continued north. "This is a nice trail," remarked Kelsey. "Yeah," said Jessie, "and it's nice to see so many people out using it." Their walk soon took them by a colorful collection of bird houses caught their attention. "Will you look at that," laughed Jessie. "It looks like an aviary condo complex," said Kelsey with a smile. "Let's keep on walking and see what else we can find," said Jessie with a wink. Kelsey knew that wink, Jessie had something planned.

"Hey, notice that cedar up ahead," said Jessie a bit too deviously. "Yeah...so," replied Kelsey slowly. "Well, I think it's a sign. It's the only one we've seen. Let's go check it out." Kelsey didn't know what Jessie had up her sleeve, but she knew whatever it was it promised to be entertaining, so she followed along.

"So we're at the cedar. Now what," asked Kelsey? "You know," said Jessie with a grin, "we are out here to hear some Irish music. Perhaps where there's Irish music, there's a leprechaun nearby. Perhaps if we look around we can find some treasure." Kelsey knew better than to argue when Jessie had one of her little games planned. "Okay, so what do we do," she asked?

"Well, I think we've already been given the signs that we need. Let's march ahead one step for every letter - including spaces - of the "establishment" back there." Kelsey followed Jessie up the trail. "Okay, here we are. Now what," asked Kelsey? "Here's where we rely on the luck of the Irish. There's a GAelic phrase I learned for our visit tonight - 'Cead Mile Failte.' It means 100,000 welcomes." said Kelsey. "I actually wrote it down." She took the scrap of paper out of her pocket. Jessie provided these instructions. "Count the number of letters in that phrase. Divide it by two, and then multiply your new number by ten. I bet if we look in that direction a bit off the trail we'll find our treasure." Kelsey was a bit skeptical, but just as Jessie promised, they found a bit of treasure in a pile of kindling tucked at the base of a multi-trunked tree. "How did you know this was here," asked Kelsey? Jessie just winked. "Let's get back. The music's going to start soon."
