Walking distance: about 1/8 mile loop trip
Trail difficulty: very easy, flat grassy path
The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in Hopewell Culture National Historical Park in southern Ohio. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks and national monuments administered by the U. S. National Park Service. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp and sign the log book.
Go to the Visitor Center in the Mound City Group unit of Hopewell Culture National Historical Park. It is on State Highway 104 three miles north of Chillicothe.
Go out the back of the Visitor Center and wander around the ceremonial mounds area there. Look for an interpretive sign titled “Ceremonial Places” showing drawings of the ceremonial buildings that were once there. In the first paragraph on the left (just below the title), in the first line, what is the sixth word ______?
Continue walking around the historic area and look for an interpretive sign titled “Mica Splendor”. In the first paragraph on the left (below the title), in the fourth line, what is the ninth (last) word ______?
To create the mystery word, put the word from the second question on the end of the word from the first question (without spaces). Paste the mystery word into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):
http://nostalgia.esmartkid.com/???.html
Now, plug/paste/type the new URL into your web browser and you will have completed your search for the Hopewell Culture Historical Park Webbox.
Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ .
