Hi there! My name is Jerome and I’m a Nomadic Gnome. My parents are always nagging me to settle down, establish a home and be a good citizen! But, I’m antsy and I get bored easily. I don’t want to stay in the same place all the time. Plus, I’m really indecisive! I’ve never really found a place that I love all the time! So, I have found four places in Michigan that I love and I relocate every few months. This way, I get the best of everything all year long! What could be better? In the winter, I go tobogganing and sledding! In the spring, it’s the love of flowers that calls me! What’s better than summer at the lake? Oh, well, there’s cider, donuts and the smell of a crisp fall day. That’s pretty good, too! You can see why I can’t settle, right? So, come see me! I expect to see you four times a year in all my favorite places. When you decide to come visit, be sure to verify that I’m home first. I’d hate for you to try to go tobogganing in June and doughnut eating in February!

Spring Home: Jerome lived here from 4/1/2007 to 6/24/2007.

Status: Sorry! He's not here anymore. Check out his summer home.

Grounds close at sunset.

Hi again! I have finally enrolled for spring term at the University of Michigan-Dearborn (Much to the chagrin of my mom, she’s a State girl!). Turns out, I am related to Henry Ford! So, rather than moving into a cramped, yucky dormitory, I’ve moved into the palatial estate grounds! It’s awesome here. I hope you come visit. As much as I love the fuzzy canines of the world, they aren’t welcome here. So, please leave Fido at home this time.

G! I think it’s a good idea to park in the lot across from the mansion when you come to see me. Head to the path in the NW corner of the parking lot. Before you cross the street, check out the orchard and that cool huge butterfly in front of the little house! Make your way to the restaurant. I’m really anxious to see you, so you better not stop to eat just yet, but look at the pretty gardens on your left while you’re here. Pass by the restaurant and head around the mansion to your right. Walk through the garden and down into the valley. WOW! Isn’t it gorgeous here? Hey! Look sort of behind you and down to the left. Do you see those stone steps heading down to the river? Why don’t you go down there? Let’s make a left and go check out the dam and waterfall. Isn’t it pretty? OOH Geese! Stop and read the signs to find out more about the dam and the estate. Ooops! I’m sorry! I guess my love of waterfalls lead you astray! I don’t live down here! Go back! Make your way along the riverbank using the stone trail. Cross that little wooden bridge and keep on going. Follow the trail along until you find a large pond surrounding a garage-like structure. Keep going to the end of the grass and follow the stone trails up the steps. Decisions! Decisions! Which trail do you follow? It doesn’t really matter; just make your way to the top of the hill. If you brought friends with you, each pick a different trail, just for fun! Once you reach the top, make a left and head into the large green meadow. Far ahead, you can see the river. You won’t need to go that far! I’m really close now. Keep an eye out for a sign off to your right. Did you see it? Go over there and see what it says! If the sign is about “giving nature a hand”, you’re in the right place. Face the sign; now turn 90 degrees to your left. Head about 35 steps straight ahead. STOP! Look down! Do you see 6 or 7 large cut up logs? That’s my house! I live under and between the 2nd and 3rd logs from the right. There are tons of strange people hanging out here. I really don’t want visitors from them. I really should study, after all. So, please be careful that they don’t see you take me out to play. When you return me to my house, please cover me up well so I can’t be seen by the interlopers.

Thanks for coming! It was so nice to see you! I hope you come visit me when I move to my summer home, too.

Box Notes:
This box is completely airtight and water proof when closed correctly. Please take care that there is no plastic or dirt between the lid seal and box. Snap all four latches completely when closing. Do not place this box inside of a plastic bag.

Note, there is no inkpad inside of this box! Remember to bring your own! If you’re creative, you may want to bring markers so that you can color the individual parts and pieces of these stamps appropriately. The Gnome stamp remains the same all year, but the scenery and accessories vary for each homestead. You can use any or all of the accessories to decorate your scene. If you plan to visit all four locations throughout the year, you should use at least one of the accessories, so you can differentiate the Gnome from place to place.

This box is very tightly packed and needs to be closed properly to be watertight. Please do not place hitchhikers in this box unless they are really small. Thanks!
