Hi there! My name is Jerome and I’m a Nomadic Gnome. My parents are always nagging me to settle down, establish a home and be a good citizen! But, I’m antsy and I get bored easily. I don’t want to stay in the same place constantly. Plus, I’m really indecisive. I’ve never really found a place that I love all the time. So, I have found four places in Michigan that I love and I relocate every few months. This way, I get the best of everything all year long! What could be better? In the winter, I go tobogganing and sledding. In the spring, it’s the love of flowers that calls me. What’s better than summer at the lake? Oooh, well, there’s cider, donuts and the smell of a crisp fall day. That’s pretty good, too! You can see why I can’t settle, right? So, come visit me! I expect to see you four times a year in all my favorite places. When you decide to come visit, be sure to verify that I’m home first. I’d hate for you to try to go tobogganing in June and doughnut eating in February!

Winter Home: Jerome lives here from approximately the end of November to mid-March.

Status: Sorry! He's moved out until next winter. Check out his Spring house.

Box Clues:
Hi there! I’m all moved in and snug as a bug in my new winter home. I hope you stop by and visit me. It’s lonely here all by myself. When you drive into this park, make a right as soon as you can. Drive to the end and park your car. Grab your map and some trail mix and make your way to my house. Start at the beginning like normal people would, but head to the end instead. Ooh, look! Tennis and shuffleboard and a play ground, too. No-no, no time for playing! Oooh, look at the pretty fifteen. Grab a baggie for your little dog Boo and head into the forest for a while. Here you go, up and down and around the bend. Cross the boardwalk and keep on going. Look, a cool little fourteen! I suggest you skip ten and make your way to thirteen, it’s a luckier number for you and me. What happened to twelve? I have no idea. I think someone stole it. Don’t let eleven lead you astray. Don't you think eight is the one you’re looking for? When you find it, head 33 steps down the trail that leads to 240 degrees, stay on the trail! I’m really close now! Look for a wounded guy lying on the ground with his torso split open. I’m housed deep within his belly! I didn’t see anyone on the path to my house when I moved in, but it was kind of off-season. I live really close to the path, so please be alert for strangers while you visit. I don’t like having company from them! After you’re done visiting with me, please cover me up again to keep me nice and cozy and warm. . . and safe from the muggles. Thanks for coming to see me! I hope you visit me again when I move to my new house in the spring.

When you’re all set and ready to head home, you can either head down the path that leads to 280 degrees to return to your car. Or, go towards 110 degrees to get a good view of the toboggan run. If you go this way, take 8-4-3-2-1 and you’ll be back at your car. Either way you go, the round trip distance is about 1.8 miles. The trail has some minor ups and downs, but the path is pretty level overall. It was pretty muddy in spots on the day I moved in. I'd suggest wearing shoes with good traction.

Box Notes:
This box is completely airtight and water proof when closed correctly. Please take care that there is no plastic or dirt between the lid seal and box. Snap all four latches completely when closing. Do not place this box inside of a plastic bag.

Note, there is no pen or inkpad inside of this box. Remember to bring your own! If you’re creative, you may want to bring markers so that you can color the individual parts and pieces of these stamps appropriately. The Gnome stamp remains the same all year, but the scenery and accessories vary for each homestead. You can use any or all of the accessories to decorate your scene. If you plan to visit all four locations throughout the year, you should use at least one of the accessories, so you can differentiate the Gnome from place to place.

This box is very tightly packed and needs to be closed properly to be watertight. Please do not place hitchhikers in this box. Thanks!
