This year is the 20th anniversary of “Don’t Mess with Texas” campaign. According to the “Keep Texas Beautiful” web site, there are 827 million pieces of trash picked up each year at a cost of an estimated$35.5 million to clean up. Despite indications that the amount of litter is decreasing, litter costs keep rising. Each year, wages for state contractors to clean up litter and the number of Texas roadways rise, increasing expenses for litter pickup throughout Texas. Let’s do our part to keep our parks and highways clean.
Directions: From I-45, go west on hwy 31 to Main St. Turn right on Main St. Follow Main to West Oaklawn. Turn left, and follow West Oaklawn past Community Park.
Cross small bridge, immediately to the left is a parking lot. Park here. The field closest to the creek is your starting point.
Clues:
The field closest to the creek is your starting point. At the back of this field is a large green storage building. Walk to this building and stand at the back of the building, where there is only a garage door. With the building on your left and a batting cage on your right, 32 steps in front of you are two oak trees. Walk to these trees and go behind them. The box is hidden just behind them in the middle. This is a high traffic area if there are games being played. Please re-cover well and let me know the status of the box!
