The Nashua River Rail Trail was an 11 mile paved trail from Route 111A to Ayer, MA. It is used by walkers, bicyles, rollerblades and horses. It has now been extended to Gilson Road. This is where the Rail Trail Bike is.
From the Everett Turnpike take Exit 5W which takes you to Route 111. Follow this until you get to Route 111A which will be on your left (approximately 4 miles.) Follow 111A until you see the bike trail sign on the right. It is right after the sign for Dutton Lane. Park on either side of the entrance to Dutton Lane. Walk beyond the Nashua sign and you will see a Nashua Rail Trail sign acros the street. There is a crosswalk to this. Cross the street here carefully. Continue on the rail trail until you see a tall stone marker on the right. The opposite side will have the number 40 on it. With the marker on your right, walk approximately 500 steps further. There will be mobile homes on the left. You will see a pipe on the left painted blue, and the last mobile home has a gray shed behind it. Stop even with the shed and look right. You will see a path going into the woods. Follow this path and keep left when it splits. Continue until you see discarded cement steps on the right. Look behind and under the steps. Behind a rock, you will find the prize. Please rehide carefully. Continue on the path and you will re-enter the rail trail.
