The Ski Bear #2 Letterbox
(Santa Fe, New Mexico)
Status of Letterbox: Replaced on 10/28/06 (Thanks Lionsmane63). ****************** Reported missing due to downed tree on 10/20/2013 ***************
(Santa Fe Ski Area)
Date of Placement: 10/28/2006
Difficulty: Easy
Total Distance to letterbox: 10 yards (one way)
Placed by Baby Bear
The "Ski Bear" letterbox is placed at the Santa Fe Ski area, and is easily found. Santa Fe is a great town to visit, and the skiing was great!
Directions:
From the Plaza in downtown Santa Fe, take Bishops Lodge Road north. Turn right on Artist Rd, and drive approximately 15 miles (you will pass Hyde State Park) to the Ski Area. Look on the right side of the road for the Forest Service Ski Area portal sign. Park on the left side of the road, across from this sign.
To the letterbox:
Walk across the road to the "Santa Fe Ski Area" sign. Turn left and
walk 20 paces to a large boulder. At the boulder look right to a large
pine tree framed between two aspens. The mini box is hidden in a crevice
at the base of the pine tree covered by rocks. This box may not be
attainable if there is a lot of snow.
