8/15/09 Box active. It has been moved to a 4th hiding spot. Flotilla the Hun

Start at Spring Mill Pond in Island Lake State Park, there is an entry fee (daily or annual.) This is an easy hike of less a mile round trip.
Park near the 1st space on the left of the parking lot. First note the special fishing regulations on your way in (especially the dates). Take the trail directly in front of you heading approximately 150 degrees to a two track trail. Take the two track trail past a sand pit on your left and then past the valley on your right hand side. Continue SE on this trail to the Y intersection at the base of a hill. If catch & release fishing is in effect from March 15 to March 31 go left. If catch & release fishing runs from April 1 to the opening day of Trout Season go right. Continue around the hill and head downhill in a south easternly direction. Cross over a footbridge made of boards then imediately turn 90 degrees over another footbridge made of branches. Pass through a swampy area with a pond on your left as the trail continues to dip SE. The trail will widen an come to another Y intersection. Go left to a solitary Juniper/Red Cedar bush. You will see a sheet of metal next to the bush discarded there. Look S at 180 degrees for 3 birch trees about 12 paces off the trail. In front of the birch trees is another discarded metal frame. Look under the SW corner for the treasure you seek. Please be sure to rehide well!
