Steperiders is a great place to take a day ride or have an overnight in a ger or do a longer horse trek while you're in Mongolia. I volunteered with them on my Mongolia trip & had a great time.
The camp is located south of Ulanbataar at N47 43' 26.3"; E106 47' 22.9" Stand at the door of the common ger where the helmets and chaps are stored. Take a reading of 165 on your compass which should have you looking over the high line where the horses are tied. You can see a ridge coming down between two fingers of trees. There is a small ovoo on the lower part of that ridge. Go to the ovoo and look on the back side for red rocks. Beneath them is the letterbox with a double sided stamp for two of the animals in the area.
