Sudoku is a logic-based, combinatorial number-placement puzzle in which the objective is to fill a 9×9 grid with digits so that each column, row, and 3×3 sub-grid contains all of the digits from 1 to 9. The puzzle provides a partially completed grid and typically has a unique solution. The modern Sudoku was most likely designed anonymously by Howard Garns, a freelance puzzle constructor from Indiana, and first published in 1979 by Dell Magazines as Number Place. The puzzle was popularized in 1986 by the Japanese puzzle company Nikoli, under the name Sudoku, meaning single number, and became an international hit in 2005. I have provided a Sudoku puzzle for you to solve before revealing the letterbox clues. Good luck!
