Walk difficulty: Drive-by
Stamp hand-carved
Status: alive and well July 8, 2016
New location - March 20, 2016
This box is outside the town of Ft. Davis, just before Davis Mountian State Park on TX 118 North. From the junction of TX 17, turn onto TX 118 North, heading towards the state park and MacDonald Observatory. At 1.2 miles there are paved pull-outs on each side of the highway. Park on the south side (left side of the highway as you approach).
From the center of the pullout sight at 140 degrees to a section of fence with a rusty, horizontal pipe about 1/2 way up the posts. To the left, and outside the fence line, is a boulder. The box is behind the boulder, up against the fence line under a flat rock. Be alert for snakes.
Please please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag), and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide the box well under the rock and cover with plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.
I will not be able to check on this box; so, please let me know if you find it, or if it needs attention or is missing:
