** NOTE: MISSING AS OF AUG 17/07

To discover life on "The Other Side of the Tracks"... from Kitchener drive North on Highway 7 (Victoria St. N) towards Guelph.

Drive past a giant "STOP" Sign (without stopping - it's okay, it's legal) and go under a bridge with no troll.

Soon you will come upon a street on your left with the same first name as a former child actor who also had a virgin cocktail named after her. You'll find water all around you. Be an 'optimist'!

Park your car in the small lot and proceed to the 3 paneled kiosk for the Walter Bean Grand River Trail.

North, South, East, West ?? As you read the map on the kiosk, take the path that leads to 18 holes in Doon.

As you start out on your journey follow the gravel path with the reservoir to your left.

Soon you will come to a fork in the path. Choose the direction in which you will be 'driven over' by a car. Don't worry, you won't get hurt!

As you continue down the path, you will pass a giant fallen tree to your left. From here, look for a concrete pillar up ahead dated 1921 (hint: look up high).

Stay on the path and from directly under the "other side" of the tracks, take 75 adult steps to a resting place on your right.

Have a seat and rest your feet. Under this giant white "Rock of Kolb" you will find what you seek (in a camouflage 4" x 4" box. (NOTE: Apparently we share the same hiding spot with a geocaching group - please do not confuse the two)

NOTE: This area is busy with hikers, bikers, and anglers. Please be discreet. On your return to the parking lot, for a nice walk stay to the right and follow around the reservoir (or continue on at either end of the trail). Have Fun!! (this is our first letterbox hide).

When found, please update on the website status (click green flag beside title on list of letterboxes) so we know who/when it has been found.
