Every summer Kansas City turns its attention to River Falls, Wisconsin as the Chiefs hold their summer training camp. You won’t have to work as hard as the players on the field do to find this letterbox, but you can catch a glimpse of the field where summer hopes are high.
Compass required: No
Walk required: ¼ mile on asphalt trail
Difficulty: Easy
Directions to South Fork Nature Trail, University of Wisconsin-River Falls
-- from Highway 35 take Main St. south
-- turn left onto Cascade Ave.
-- turn right on 6th St. at the Centennial Science Hall
-- go to the end of the street and park in the circular turn-around where the trail begins
Begin your short walk by going over the bridge and heading south. At the next path turn right. Soccer fields and what is that in the distance? A football field. Yes, a football field is on your left. Just after the second bench, spot a knoll of pine trees on your left. Count off five of them going along the fence, and the box is under a small fallen log near the base of the fifth tree.
