From the camping area at Tumalo state park cross the O.B. Riley bridge over the Deschutes. Go up the steps to the right to find a trail that goes in the downstream direction. Take a rest at the bench and maybe you'll spot some trout making dinner of the mayflies. Go down from the bench to continue downstream alongside a gulley. Just before the trail leaves the gulley a bit to pass around a ponderosa pine, spot a large boulder under and beside a tree. With your back to the tree, spot a rock jutting out over the ground just a bit about 12 steps at 340 degrees. The mayfly is under the rock.
Note: Be careful of rattlesnakes. This probably isn't a great box location. If you spot a good one nearby, please feel free to move this box and let me know so I can update the clues.
