This box is hidden in White Tank Mountain Regional Park southwest of Surprise. There is a fee to enter the park. From I-10 take exit 124 and drive north on State Highway Loop 303. Turn left (west) on Olive Ave. (there is a brown sign at this intersection for the White Tank Mountain Park). The park entrance is at the west end of Olive Ave. Ask for a park and trail map when paying the entrance fee. Drive north on the main park road and turn left (west) on Ford Canyon Rd. Drive to Picnic Area 9 which is also the Ford Canyon Trailhead, and park there. It is the second set of restrooms on the left side of the road and the parking is on the left side of the road.

Walk across the road to the Ford Canyon Trail sign and walk north on this trail for about a 0.1 mile (you will go down and up a deep canyon). At the junction turn left on the Ford Canyon Trail. You will stay on the Ford Canyon Trail at all junctions. After passing the Waddell Trail junction, the trail will make some S-curves, go down and up a small wash, go on flat ground for a while, and then start to gradually go up. You will then arrive at a low saddle with jagged rock formations on the right side of the trail. From the moderate size Ironwood Tree in the saddle on the right side of the trail, go at about 230 degrees (from mag. north) up slope for about 37 steps to a tall slender Saguaro Cactus without arms with a large rock on its south side. From this Saguaro, go at about 215 degrees (from mag. north) for about 14 steps to a moderate size Palo Verde Tree with a Hedgehog Cactus cluster on its southeast side. The box is under this tree’s northwest side under a flat rock covered with some twigs and plant debris. Be very alert for snakes and scorpions and other desert critters.

Please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag). Please rehide the box well under the rock, twigs and plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.

I will not be able to check on this box very often; so, please let me know if you find it, or if it is missing or needs attention:
