In the Spring of 1898, the Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Southern Railroad, which operated the rail route from Norfolk to the oceanfront, completed work on a new Currituck Division extending through the lower end of Princess Anne County. Within two years, the parent line was reorganized as part of the Norfolk and Southern and the branch came to be known as the M.P. RR Line. The line terminated at the Inland Water Way near the VA/NC State line. The line does not exist today, but a trolley may still be found.

DIRECTIONS
From Virginia Beach follow Princess Anne Road (State 615) south to Munden Point Rd.there will be a Munden Point Municipal Park sign just before Munden Point Rd.,turn right and follow park signs. At Pefley Ln. turn right and enter the park and take left fork to the back of the park. Park in the lot adjacent to the diamond. However, you do not want to play baseball. Instead follow the cement walk toward a wooden shed in the distance. Once in the vicinity of the shed turn right and follow the tree line. Keep the tree line to your left. You will soon pass hole #15 and #16 keep them to your right. Soon you will come to a foot bridge, cross it, and turn north and keep the tree line to your left and the diamond seats to your right. Where the clearing meets the tree line again, turn east, keep tree line on left and the 2nd set of diamond seats to your right. Approx 20/21 paces (each footfall =1 pace)past the 2nd set of diamond seats turn left and enter the tree line. Approx 10/11 paces inside the treeline off to your right, you will find a hollowed out, upright, tree stump. Inside a trolley waits for you. WATCH OUT FOR BRIARS

Please REHIDE it well. This close to the diamond discretion is the order of the day. The park is less busy during the week days. There are many briar bushes in the vicinty so long pants and shoes are recommended. Also, the area can get quite marshy, especially after a storm. If there are problems with the box please notify me at awktc@yahoo.com. WATCH OUT FOR BRIARS

Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the park. There is a new frisbee golf course. There are playgrounds, boating and it is an awesome fishing spot Seal Pup #4 caught a 22" flounder here two summers ago. Don't forget to check out the gardens near the Windmill. The view is great. Enjoy!
