Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Microbox: 50 yards

Status of Microbox: Alive and Well on 8/1/04

The “L/C – Shoshone” microbox is located in Lemhi Pass, at the Sacajawea Memorial Area. This new park is dedicated to the woman who made the Lewis and Clark trip across the mountains possible, by her family origins with the Shoshone tribe. The park has picnic facilities and walking trails.

Directions:
From I-15 in Montana, go west on at exit #44, through Grant and up to Lemhi Pass. Once at the top, the park is on your right (follow the signs).

To the Microbox:
From the parking area, walk the paved path north to the 1st Sacajawea interpretive sign. Continue down the path to the right, then turn back to the left on the switchbacks, now heading north again. Count 20 steps once you made the turn north, then stop. Go down off the trail to your right, then left behind a large pine tree. The box is at its base, on the back side, with a rock covering it.
