Time: ~30 minutes
State Park named the same as a Bingo Casino in Milwaukee
Note: 2007 State Park fees are $7/$10 daily for WI resident/nonresident OR an annual vehicle pass is $25/$35.

From Green Bay: Take State Highway 57 north. Drive about 37 miles to County Highway PD. Turn north on Highway PD and go about 2.4 miles to the park entrance.

PARK DESCRIPTION:
“... on the shore of Sturgeon Bay just northwest of the city of Sturgeon Bay, has gently rolling upland terrain bordered by steep slopes and rugged limestone cliffs. A 75-foot observation tower rises above the forest canopy, giving a panoramic view of Sawyer Harbor. On a clear day, the view from the park's observation tower reaches 16 miles across Green Bay.” – DNR web site

CLUES:
To discover the “Door County Tradition”, you should start at the observation tower, noting the year it was built: _______ (A) and its height in feet: ______ (B). Then you must climb to the top of the tower, counting the number of steps as you ascend (or as you descend if you lose count on the way up!). Steps= ______ (C).

After hopefully enjoying a great view, head back down and locate a large rock nearby that provides information about the Ice Age Trail. Facing the rock, take the trail directly in front of you. At the first T-intersection, don’t go the wrong way. After a short walk you will see a blue arrow. Take a bearing of: (3*B) + C – B = ________ and walk in this direction until you reach a large Ice Age Trailhead sign. Go a little further to a trail starting between the 2nd and 3rd rocks. (You may want to enjoy the views nearby before proceeding further.)

From the rocks at the trail starting point, walk: C-22= _____ paces to a twisted birch couple. Go to the other side of the birch and take a bearing of: (A / 7) – 6 = ______. On this heading, take the sum of the digits in (A) ______ paces to a rock ledge. The Door County Tradition is nestled in the rocks waiting for you. After stamping in, please be sure to rehide the box well with rocks so it isn’t visible from any direction.

Continue on the main path in the direction you were heading and you will loop back to the tower.

Since I don’t live nearby, I won’t be able to check on the box very often. Therefore I’d really appreciate an email letting me know the box status when you find it. THANK YOU!
