5/4/17 - Boxes are back in place.

5/3/17 - Boxes have been pulled for maintenance. Will be back shortly.

Rated: Easy, about 1 mile round trip with mostly flat walking and a little off-trail travel with some broken glass, might not be good for dogs

You will be looking for different modes of water travel. Since you will be near the lake, I thought it would be apropos.

From Rt. 2 east, take exit 22 and turn left at the end of the ramp. From Rt. 2 west, take exit 22 and turn right at the end of the ramp. Either way, at stop sign, turn left. *

From the center of Lebanon, follow Rt. 87 to Waterman Road. Follow Waterman Road to the second stop sign. The first stop sign will be after about 1 mile. The second stop sign will be after an eternity. At the second stop sign, turn right. *

*In turning at this stop sign, you will be turning onto what my map program calls Rt. 616, my firefighter hubby calls Old Rt. 2, and what Zia of Fritz's Letterbox calls Norwich Ave. Either way, you will be following this road for 1.3 miles and turning left onto Camp Moween Road. At the fork, turn left at the arrow for Reservoir Road in Colchester. After a short distance, you will see Red Cedar Lake on the left. There is a small parking area (about 5 cars will fit here) also on the left with a gate. Hopefully, you can park here. It does get a little busy on the weekends.

After parking your car, go through the gate and follow the path that goes along the lake on the left side. You will go over a dam and then go into the woods. After walking about 1/2 mile, you will come to a right turn and then shortly after that another right turn. Take the second right and follow to a clearing by the lake. Enjoy the view while you are there. Now backtrack toward the main path. As you enter the 2nd part of the "S" curve, look to the right for the largest pine. It's the one that turns into two about 20 feet up and the tops are broken off. Go around to the back of this tree for your 1st prize. Continue back to the main path and follow it to the left as if you were going back to your car. Look for the first chimney on your left. With your back to the hole in the back of the chimney, look at the twin two-sister trees in front of you. One of the sisters is broken in half. Between them and the stump is your second prize. Go back to the trail and continue towards your car. When you reach the old tarred lot on your right, take the path to your left down to the lake. As you approach the water, you will see a smaller path to your right. This will lead you to a large old foundation with a fireplace in the middle on the other side. Follow this foundation to the left all the way to the end the best way you can. Continue around the corner to the next corner. With your back to the foundation (the chimney will be on your right) take a reading of 90* and take 10 paces, count left foot only, to a rock den. Behind the door is your 3rd prize. Go back the way you came, and follow the path back to the lake. After enjoying the view here, return to the main path and turn left towards your car. After a short distance, you will see a large rock on your left pointing at the path. It is actually pointing to your next prize. Follow the point (65*) about 40 feet to a hollow-based tree. Look behind the door for your 4th prize. Continue heading back to your car. Walk a short ways and take the first path on your right. Just as you enter the woods, you will see a pile of stones on your right. Go to the back of this pile for your 5th prize. Return to the main path and turn right to get back to your car. I hope you had a good time collecting your water transports.
There is only one logbook, in the last box
As always, please rehide boxes well.

Happy hunting.

I would like to thank Burning Feet for taking over this series.
