This box has been retired temporarily. The school is doing a lot of work on the trails and I will remove the box until I can find a new place for it.

I'm leaving the box listed on the site so I don't mess up anyone's F count by deleting it.

-----------------------------------------------------------

The John C Campbell Folk School was founded in 1925. Olive Dame Campbell, Marguerite Butler and the people of Brasstown came together to create a school based on the Danish folk school tradition. Instruction is non-competitive; there are no credits or grades assigned. Discussion and conversation are emphasized and most instruction is hands-on.

For more information on the school itself, see www.folkschool.org.

Be aware that many festivals are held throughout the year on the grounds and the letterbox location can, at times, be quite busy. Be discreet and rehide well.

To reach the Folk School from Murphy, NC, take US 64 East and make a right on Old US 64. Turn right on Brasstown Rd. at Clay's Corner in Brasstown.
