From Interstate 5 (exit 14), drive east on Highway 66 for 1/2 mile to Dead Indian Highway. Turn left onto Dead Indian Highway and follow for 22 miles to the junction with Forest road #37 (Big Elk Road). Turn left onto Road #37 and proceed 1.5 miles to Daley Creek Campgrounds. There are two entrances to the campground you can access the trailhead from either driveway.

Beginning at the trailhead for Beaver Dam Trail #1001, you will shortly pass a bench for resting on your right. When you reach a "y" in the trail, turn to the right and cross the bridge.

You will soon be led through a chute where cattle dare not go, but cowpies will still be abundant. Go figure!

After some meandering along the creek you will come upon a sign showing a loop. Choose the bridge path (to the left) and you will be on your way.

After 5 minutes or so, you may see a cut log on the right side with a unique pattern etched into it. You'll know your on the correct path.

You will happen upon a bench on the right that overlooks the spot where the loop loops and the box resides. Before crossing over to begin the second loop there should be a large rock to the left. Not the huge one nearer the creek, mind you, or the box may swim. Step down to the rock, turn to your right, and tucked up and behind you'll find the treasure's delight!

The box is in a plastic bag to protect it from moisture.
