Missing as of 12/27/04 when we went to check on the box. I am bummed because it is a neat area - feel free to stop and check it out along the way if you would like. Please email me if you find it.

Clues: Easy
Location: Corner of 9th St. and Eastmont Ave., East Wenatchee, WA

Directions: From Sunset Hwy (State Highway 2), travel up 9th Street to Eastmont Avenue. You will see the garden straight ahead. From Grant Road, go North on Eastmont Avenue to 9th St. where you will see the garden on the right.

The Bridge of Friendship Garden pays tribute to the sister-city relationship between Wenatchee, East Wenatchee and Misawa, Japan.

Park in the designated parking on 9th Street (Misawa Way) and begin your venture into the garden. Travel down the path, stopping to view the waterfall on your right. On your left you will see a Japanese pavilion. Next to the pavilion you will see a ceremonial water basin, a gift from the sister city of Misawa. Continuing down the path you will cross a bridge designed to illustrate the connection of two land masses. You will come to a fork in the road. Stay to the left and head out onto the sidewalk. Follow the sidewalk down to the flagpoles to view the recognition wall. Here you will also see the mural depicting the flight of the Ms. Veedol and the Pangborn-Herndon landing. Travel back up the sidewalk towards the garden, entering where you just exited. Stay to the left and have a rest on the stone bench. Continue around the circle and stop to look at the stone lantern, another gift from Misawa. Go back across the bridge but don’t be in a hurry. The letterbox is hidden under the bridge, 4 planks from the end on the same side as the lantern.. Enjoy this gift of friendship and leave your own mark of friendship in the logbook. Please be discrete and respectful of the landscaping. Since this is a busy corner, stamping might best be done in the pavilion. Take care and rehide it well so others can enjoy the same experience. Please sure to drop us a line to let us know what you think and the condition of the box at tjlucas@thelucasfamily.net – happy letterboxing!
