Jake’s Birthday Present is Hidden in Alpine Park. Located on Alpine Road, between Newburg Road and East State street, just north of Colonial village. It is a great picnic park and has a completely accessible playground for all ages.

Directions---

Once entering the park, turn left at the first intersection and head up to the area 2 shelter. Park next to the stone building that is next to a 4 posted shelter and a sign that says “Area 2”.

Standing at the stone building, use your compass and find 200 degrees. Start walking through the oak trees. About halfway there you should pass the biggest tree in the grove. It seems to have the longest branches and thickest trunk of all the other trees. Keep walking until you come to the edge of the forest and a steep hill. The tree you are looking for should be right in front of you and is on the edge of hill/forest. It is an oak tree (what else). It is 6 steps away from a pair of oak trees that live in the grassy area. To kind of help identify these trees, the southern one is thinner, the northern one forms 2 trunks about 10 feet up and is kind of ‘flat’.

Your present is in the roots of the oak tree on the cliff. Please be careful getting there!!! It does not require any climbing equipment, a couple of shur-feet is all you need. I went around the right side of the tree to get to the hiding space.

Please make sure to hide it well so that it does not slip down the hill.
