Strictly speaking this letterbox is not in Ottawa nor Ontario, but a 20 minute drive into Gatineau Park, Quebec. I suggest parking at the Waterfall Trial parking lot which was free when I went, or at the Mulvihill Lake parking lot if you don't mind a short hike in the woods. The parking at the Estate is $8.00. Enjoy!

“50 Bucks”

This man, his face on 50 dollars does reside
His country home with ruins known as Mooreside.
This place out of time now beckons thee.
Come hither! Find the letterboxes three.

First get thee to the Abby, no habit here warn,
To stand by the fire, though it will not warm.
And gaze through the circlet, a white cube you will see
And past it to gap in the fence you must flee.

Follow white picket west to where giant maple grew,
Then turn 10 degrees north to stone horseshoe
Now stand within on inner stump
And look to house, no need to jump.

For here within the crescent ring
In rock rests visage of the King.
For grits and numismatics, a pad of ruby red
Awaits the stamping of his rubber head

"The Ruins"

From crescent stump, seek boulder large and bold
From there go north to penthouse (30 holed!)
Now look north west to bay window
It’s here all letterboxers now must go.

At the center of this stony ruin,
Here Churchill and King stood, the two men
Walked through this very garden ahead.
To its right side you too are led.

And there you’ll find within a tree
Within a hole, ‘neath bark, ivy
A token for your treasure march
A stamp depicting stony arch.

"Forest beast?"

Now enter forest, if you dare
Down “waterfall trail”, but please “Beware”
For one more stamp that you can earn
Lies just before King’s small cavern

Here lurks a most enchanting tree
With claws and jaws, the Jabberwocky
With back to this tree climb to top of rocky hill
Amongst these stones, find it you will

But take great care now lest you be the feast
Of one of Gatineau’s forest beasts!
