Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Microbox: 20 yards
Status of Microbox: Alive and Well on 9/6/04
The "Fish out of water" microbox is located at the Sierra Endangered Cat Haven, just west of Kings Canyon National Park. After leaving the park, we stopped to find the "Clouded Leopard" box just down the road. This led us to turn around and check out the Cat Haven. It was a great stop, so decided to add a box there. Find these 2 boxes, but also be sure to go see the cats!
Directions:
On Highway 180, going east toward Kings Canyon NP and past Squal Valley, park is on the left just past the "Clouded Leopard" box. There will be a large sign on the left at the enterence. Turn in, and drive up the hill to the parking area.
To the microbox:
Walk to the enterence gate. At the Tiger statue, look at it's base on the left side. The microbox is under the raised lip, covered by small rocks. BE CAREFUL REACHING IN!!!
