MISSING as of January 14, 2006

Grrrr, we just maintained them last week, then went to rebag and found the letterbox on the ground in the open, with no stamp!

level of difficulty: easy
A compass will be helpful but not necessary if you know how to use the sun. You may also wish to bring a picnic lunch. The setting is oceanside and very serene.

From Port Moody, take Ioco Road travelling onto Belcarra, past Belcarra Park/White Pine Beach entrance(do not turn in here). At the bottom of the very big hill, there is a three way stop. Proceed straight through the stop sign going into the park, do not turn right into the village. Follow the road to the end, you will come to the parking lot. You should be able to see covered picnic shelters. You are in the correct starting place.

Mystery Tree MISSING as of Sept 18 2005!!

From the parking area head directly due north, past the picnic shelters and go between the tall twin conifers. Continue 30 paces until you come to a green carpet on your left. You are on the right track. Continue along the trail heading north, you will come to a smaller green carpet on your right. (this one is now covered with lots of debris). Immediately past this (to the left of the carpet) take the small 'trail' heading east, then a short jog north will take you to The Crossing. (it is a very tiny creek) If you dare, go across, walk on the lower branches using the 'log' to hold onto. On the other side, head south passing the leanto structure(lean to structure torn down as of Aug 2005) and meander throught the conifers till you come to the triangle with the extra side that is at the ground in the base of a tree. Your mystery is about to be solved. Please be sure to cover up again and rehide in the triangle in the trunk. Return to the parking lot.
