NOTE: Commercial stamp replaced by a hand-carved stamp 6/15/07. Stamp carved by my friend "krait".

This box is hidden in the Kinnickinnick Conservation Area in northern Boone County. The entrance to Kinnickinnick is on the west side of Caledonia Road, several miles north of Highway 173, just past the junction for North Boone School Road. The box can be reached either on horseback or on foot.

CLUES FOR EQUESTRIANS: Park in the "horse trailer parking" area and take the equestrian trail across the road, heading north. Keep to the main trail and eventually you will pass a tumble-down corn crib on the left side of the trail. Shortly thereafter, you will see the remains of an old, overgrown stone foundation on the right. The letterbox is hidden inside this foundation.

CLUES FOR PEDESTRIANS: Drive all the way in to the "Park View North" shelterhouse parking area and park facing the shelterhouse. Take the trail on your left by the yellow gate. Turn LEFT at the first junction (blue and orange trail) and LEFT at the second junction (orange trail). Eventually the orange trail joins the equestrian trail; go left. From that point, a walk of approximately 8-10 minutes will bring you to the old corn crib on the left, and then a little ways farther on, the overgrown stone foundation on the right. The letterbox is hidden inside the foundation. Total walking time from parking lot to letterbox (at a moderate walking page) around 25 minutes. Wear good walking shoes; the horse trail is gravelly.

NOTE: The Kinnickinnick Conservation Area may be closed for deer hunting on weekends in October and November. Probably best to call the Boone Co. Conservation District office to check - 547-7935.

Please e-mail me at eirene16@hotmail.com if the box or its contents are missing or damaged.
