Background: San Diego County is known for its many beaches, many of which are hidden away and less crowded. Fletcher Cove is one of these beaches. While enjoying a dip in the ocean on a recent vacation I was stung by a stingray. So of course being an avid letterboxer I decided to plant a microbox there. Enjoy the water but remember to shuffle your feet as you go in and out of the surf!
Terrain: Easy
Directions: Take the Lomas Santa Fe exit off I-5 and head west until you run into the ocean. You will pass Camino Del Mar and continue on to parking lot for Fletcher Cove.
Clues: Walk down to the beach and enjoy the ocean view. After taking a stroll on the beach return to the restrooms. The concrete curves around a trimmed jasmine hedge. At the point where the curve meets the straigth line hidden under the jasmine hedge you will find the Solana Beach Stingray microbox.
