From the main parking lot, take the trail closest to the lake and head clockwise around it. Pass a place where Gravity and Water are represented. Then pass a location where the Washoe Indians are recognized. Just beyond a trail split to a different lake, you’ll reach a pile of large boulders on the left side of the trail. Locate the largest hollow – left side of the outcropping if you face it with the lake behind you. The letterbox may be reached through this large access, but it is easier to get to from a smaller hole to the same hollow – behind the rock pile furthest from the lake. The letterbox is in a narrow slot slipped between two rocks that are holding up this rock pile.
