Symbols of Colorado #5: Stegosaurus. The Stegosaurus is the state fossil/dinosaur of Colorado. The first Stegosaurus was discovered by M. P. Felch in 1877 just west of Denver in an area now known as Dinosaur Ridge. You can still find one here.
Terrain: Easy to moderate. Uphill trail to the box, less than one mile.
Clues: Fairly easy.

At "Entrance 2" off Hwy 93. Can't park on the shoulder, may have to park in the Park.
Neither North nor South, but a ridge, and a trail.
At the top, from the brown trail post with arrow, 244*.
At the base of a pointing finger of rock.
Notes:
- This letterbox has been granted permission to be placed in Jefferson County Open Space.
- No inkpad or pencil in the box, make sure you bring your own.
- This is Colorado, there are rattlesnakes. Lately, there's been an increase in rattlesnake reports in the immediate area of this letterbox, use caution and common sense. Watch for rattlesnakes in the grass just off trail. Don't stick your hand into holes without checking them first.
- Please do not ask me for additional hints without offering a bribe of unpublished clues, hitchhikers, etc.
