*** This series will be retired 6/14/09***

This box is part of a series of letterboxes highlighting some of the unique features of various city parks in Urbana. An Urbana Park District guide might be helpful (or visit their website at www.prairienet.org/upd). Please bring your own inkpad and pen.

This park was donated to the city by a farmer's wife and named for her first husband. The park contains a statue, sculpted by Lorado Taft, of a famous Illinois native. It also has a walk named for an accountant who was active in the Urbana community.

Start by the statue and head west. Cross the bark mulch pathway and look for number 38. West and slightly south of 38 is a tulip poplar or tuliptree. On the north side of the base of this tree is a hole in which you will find the letterbox.
