UPDATE: Log book was missing, but was recently sent back to me..you'll find the original log book inside this letterbox

Location: ROCKHILL CEMETERY, South Street, Foxborough, MA

Bill Hawkes was born on November 10, 1944. He was born in Foxborough, MA, and graduated in 1962 from Foxborough High School. He was employed by the Foxboro Company for well over 30 years, and you can say, he was a "townie" (though he lived in North Attleboro) who knew everything and everyone in Foxborough..and that he loved his beloved Foxborough. Bill was a jokester, a comedian, a devoted employee, a loyal member of the Elks club, a volunteer with a heart of genuine trust, a Vietnam Viet and above all..a straight-shooter.

Used to heartache, though, he wore the cloak of a modern day Desperado...with a shield no one could penetrate. Doing things for Bill was not an easy task..opening up his wounded, hardened heart was impossible..in our hearts he was a LoneStar.

Bill died, at the age of 59, on Monday, October 4th, 2004.

This box is for Billy, the LoneStar.

DIRECTIONS:
From the South Street entrance to Rockhill Cemetery, enter straight, proceeding to your right - up a slight hill (can only go right), from there (at the top)proceed to the right far end of the cemetery.

Find where ole' glory proudly stands by the black cannon. Park here.

The cannon points your way to the LoneStar..take the graveled path to the right, passing the "Town Lot" sign on your right.

Follow till you come to a grassy path on your right, (also to the right of Chloe Sumner..beyond the two cement pilars) walk over the log placed there. The fourth stone on your left announces your "HUNT" draws near.

Once more to your left, you'll pass SIMMONS..now as you walk slowly, look on the ground, on your left..find A.H.Y. Stand in front of this flat stone, with your back to the stone..face the water..from the stone walk 15 paces. There, you'll find, the hollow of a downed tree, within, the hollow further resides our fallen hero, our LoneStar.

(NOTE: Some kindred spirit left a small folded flag, tucked in the box..please leave this token of someone's heart left behind to honor Billy..)

If you would like, you may visit Bill..by taking this path to the end, almost directly across, slightly to your left and inward, nearby a tree, and next to an angular dark stone is Billy's resting place.

Peace.

PS..thanks to whomever placed a neatly "military" style folded small American Flag inside our box. We were deeply touched.. A & D
