*******ARCHIVED 03/26/09 BASED ON MISSING REPORT BY PREVIOUS FINDER************
Planted: October 11, 2004
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 10 minutes
Directions:
From Route 32 in Swanzey, NH, take Carlton Rd. just a short ways to covered bridge #7. Pass through the bridge and pull off into the small parking area on the left. On the North side of the small parking area is a trail with a log across it. Jump the log and head a short ways down the trail, you'll be parallel with the river on your left. In just a minute you'll come to a small clearing with a pile of old stumps and cut wood in front of you and to the right a bit. Look to your left and you'll see a large uprooted tree with its roots exposed. Hidden beneath a few pieces of deadwood and some leaves you'll find the Backwards Covered Bridge letterbox.
While in the area, and if you have a few spare hours, think about doing Honey Hill just down the road, great view of Monadnock from the top. This stamp was carved on a whim after an afternoon of letterboxing, and I !!EVOL how it came out. * WINK *
